"21st Century Psychology:  Research, Therapy and Impact in an Online World"

Summary:The first internet domain name was registered in 1985.  Today, over 88% of North Americans use the internet and rely on it for everything from news to "talking" with their doctors.  This year's conference explores the impact of our logged-in, app-driven world on psychological research, self-image, self-esteem, and therapy delivery. (7 CE Credits - 1 of which is Cultural Diversity)

7:45 - 8:15 - Registration and Refreshments

8:15 - 8:30 - Welcome and Introductions 

8:30 - 10:00 - "Social Media in Psychological Research" by Geoffrey Miller, PhD

10:00 - 10:15 - Break

10:15 - 11:30 - "#DoILookOK?  Cyberculture and Body Image" by Brenda Wolfe, PhD

11:30 - 12:45 - "Checkup & Choices: A Case Study in the Development and Implementation of a Tech-Based Intervention" by William Campbell, PhD

12:45 - 1:45 - Lunch

1:45 - 3:00 - "Impact of the Online World in our Schools" by David LaCourt, PhD

3:00 - 3:15 - Break

3:15 - 4:30 - "Ethical and Legal Considerations" by Nicole Duranceaux, PhD

4:30 - 5:00 - Panel Discussion and Adjourn

This conference is approved by NMPA for 7 CE credits (1 of which is Cultural Diversity) of category 1 continuing education for psychologists.

NOTES:

Registration includes coffee, morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch (with vegetarian options).

Participants arriving more than 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time or leaving more than 15 minutes prior to the end will not receive CE credits.  No partial credit will be awarded.

All cancellations are subject to a $35 processing fee.
